Is it that “our current technological trajectory will lead us towards complete moral bankruptcy” or our complete moral bankruptcy has lead us to our current technological trajectory?
I don't think this has to be an either/or. Technology shapes our moral character by inviting us to interact with the world in certain ways, but our moral character also influences the kinds of technology that we choose to develop. It operates as a sort of feedback loop.
